So (only) three young Toffees. DCL on the bench.
Onyekuru might get his first senior competitive appearance for Nigeria today, who are playing a WC qualifier in Algeria.
Kick off at 19:30
Don't know if we've got anybody in the team.
Apparently ,according to those who watch a lot at this level, England have a surplus of attacking midfielders similar to Gordon, despite his goalscoring record this season having him way ahead of others. No, there is no Young Toffee nominated. Also Anthony Gordon is not a part of the squad, what really suprised me.

In fairness to City and Chelsea mate that have had the two best Academies in England for the past few years. Particularly Chelsea who have won the FA Youth Cup I think four times on the run and the UEFA Youth thingy twice on the run before not competing last year. I watched them beating City 5-1 in the second leg of last season’s Youth Cup and both teams were very good, far , far in advance of our u18s last season. Chelsea have two outstanding prospects in the England U19s in Trevoh Chalobah and Mason Mount but the problem as we know , and where we have an advantage , is that their owners demand success at the highest level so very few Academy players make it into either City or Chelsea squads .England is quite cliquey. If your face doesn't fit you generally don't get a look in irrespective of form or improvement. City and Chelsea lads get most favourable treatment.
