Everton Youth Teams Thread

….he’s very raw, Joey. For those who watched him a fair bit last season we were blown away with his running power but he lacks quality and defensive experience.

Fair play to Dyche for selecting him, I doubt many others would’ve done at his stage of development but he’s a fair way short even for those of us who like the lad. Training daily with first team will do him the world of good. Patterson will probably be ahead of him in the pecking order now.

lol he only picked him cos he was the only full back at the club available, binned him as soon as others were back.

He is only 4 years younger than Digne, at the time we had a 25 year old Lucas Digne as our left back.
Exactly. He left because he was told there were two players ahead of him, he wouldn't be playing and wouldn't even be on the bench. From his point of view he was right to leave.

Roberts probably has the tougher task with Graham, Morgan, Loney ahead of him but he too looks a talent and Olayiwola certainly looks highly promising . Someone asked his age earlier, it’s often difficult to get DoB info on the u16s but as Olayiwola is now with England u16 it means he must still be 15 on 31st December , 16 in 2025 .
I figured Roberts actually had a decent chance of stepping up to get some minutes in the midfield. In the pre-season tournaments he looked on par with Akarikiri and the like.

Letting Robinson go wouldn't be seen as anywhere near as disastrous if the next 3 (!) Highly rated left backs hadn't all also walked out the door for basically nothing. Or if we had adequately replaced Digne. Or just not sold Digne.
