Everton academy player Pedro Neves has given a very nice interview to outlet Gazeta Esportiva this week.
The 16-year-old, who’s currently featuring for the Toffees’ U-18 squad, has been playing for the Goodison Park side for a year and a half now, since making the move from Charlton.
The Brazilian footballer has revealed he’s well adapted to English football, and is happy to be featuring for Everton’s youth teams regularly.
“I’ve been in England for four years, the adaptation is very good, I’ve got very well adapted to the cold and the language, and the way they like playing football, running back to defend, things like that,” Pedro Neves told Gazeta Esportiva.
“It’s a big step (playing for Everton), especially that this year I’m playing with the olders and still getting starts. Thank God, I’m reaping the good fruits.”

Neves shows some strong feelings for the Toffees, and claims he hopes to stay at the club for many years: “My relationship with Everton is very good, I’m very happy, it’s a very big club and I hope to make a great history here. I’m focused and my head is centered here to make a great season.”
The winger has played for both the Brazilian and the Portuguese national teams, and until he’s called up for the main squads, he can still think about which one of the countries he’ll choose to represent: “It’s a difficult situation, it’s two big teams with great players. But I still have plenty of time to think. I have to be calm to make the right decision. Of course, wanting or not, I’m Brazilian and the dream of playing for the national team is great.”
When asked about players who inspires him, he picked a Brazilian: “For sure Neymar. I have the same characteristics as his, to attack with speed and finish well, besides scoring goals and making assists.”
