no one stood out. was looking forward to seeing astley and carroll . zuk and simms are two names that played at last years compitition that i remember

Are their any rumours that we are going to sign some young talents for the U23 team? I am surprised to see that their are no new players at the moment in the squad. In the last years their always have been same great signings like DCL, Gibson etc.
It’s always interesting seeing 1st year Scholars for the first time, though nobody stood out the way Anthony Gordon did last year. I thought Bobby Carroll looked the best of the newcomers, small , feisty hard tackling midfielder who reminded me a bit of Liam Walsh ( @chazzle_dazzle ). And while making comparisons, I thought Rhys Hughes did well , his style of play, way he moves , looks a bit of like a right-footed, Welsh Kieran Dowell .
