Great spotting, I seem to remember we started doing the same last year, offering Scholarships and individuals announcing on Twitter, then club confirming in July.
Jack McIntyre was on the u18 bench recently, don’t think he got on , so he’s either highly rated , we have a goalkeeping injury crisis we’re not told about, or probably both.

Ryan Astley current pkayiny Right Back for Wales u19 v SAN Marino on FA Wales Facebook live. Looking very composed and good distribution whenever he’s on the ball. Probably about 90% pass accuracy. But he’s no full back , defensively sound but no attacking intent. 0-0 after 35 mins, Wales should be at least 4 goals up.

Finished 2-0 to Wales U19s, means theyre through to Euro finals. Astley was moved to Centre Back with about 25 mins to go , did fine, very comfortable. They appeared to be giving everybody a chance to start , but they should probably have started with him in a back three and wing backs, Wales should have scored 10.

The fact that Solanke got player of the tournament was hilarious. I did not even notice him until he scored a tap in. Kenny, Cook, Lookman and DCL were the stand outs and a Tottenham lad in defence.

Onomah was an excellent midfield partner for Cook in that tournament. He's Tottenham on loan at Sheff Wed currently

I was trying to compare him with the two original CBs . Astley was certainly slighter , a wee bit in height , not as bulky as them but not significantly so and of course he’s a year younger. I’d say he’s physically slightly bigger than Feeney at the same age. It’ll be interesting to see how he’s rated by Wales given he was Captain all the way through his youth years. It’d be a shame if he’s not played as a CB , he doesn’t look like he’s got the ability to do the attacking aspects of being a full back , but his first game there so who knows how he’ll develop.

..cheers, Matey, I was hoping you might have noted the comparison with others. It doesn’t appear he’s too far off with a year of growth to catch up. I imagine the biggest clue to full-back conversion will be at club level, but Everton certainly appear to see him as a CB at this stage. He’s clearly a good one.

Everton u18s,top scorers,current u18s prem league leaders and scoring goals for fun all over the place,are back in action saturday after a 3 week league break,this time away to sunderland u18s the 2nd lowest scorers with only 1 league win and conceeding quite a few goals,with the game a 12.30pm ko-though at ko they may have been overtook as 2nd place Liverpool u18s are playing 4th placed Derby tomorrow at 7pm

He's one of the u16's I noticed @ Fulham a while back. Quite tall, but very scrawny, like a rake. Looked a decent player tho.

Isn't there an elite round to get through in the Spring mate?

England are struggling too as they put a second string out in their final game against Turkey and lost 1-0. That means they will have to play a seeded team in the elite round. Play a full strength team and there shouldn't be any worries, but most of the best players have stepped up to the U21s and full squads.

Yes indeed your right, there’s 28 teams in the elite round next March , 7 teams to go through to Final plus hosts Armenia.
