I honestly don't really care. It is just a platform of development and I would rather just keep an eye out for possible talents that may make the grade. Most of them won't so the result is the least important thing for me.

Simms missing that game was made even worst when he was put in the u23s squad for the game at Brighton the next night,as a sub and not even come on for even a minute,bet he was gutted as well

There wasn't a lot of effort to be honest, especially in the first half, nothing really to take from the game, the Liverpool goalkeeper had three weak shots to save all game, these young lads have got to do a lot better than this if they want to make a living out of the game: and if they can't raise their ability in a Derby game it makes you wonder when can they raise it.

Don't see any of this lot knocking on the first team squad door unfortunately,Feeney was decent enough, Bowler certainly has ability, the keeper "could" develop,Adeniran can be good, also can be very poor, not much else though!!
...Arsenal linked with Anthony Gordon this morning. Strange he’s not yet a regular starter at U23 level. There could be reasons regarding injury, growing spurts etc but i’m not a fan of keeping them ring-fenced in their own age group if that is the strategy.

Didn't see yesterday's game but having seen us a few times this season I wasn't surprised we lost. Some of the games we've won have been dire. where we've looked solid but uninspired and predictable. Hornby a big loss to the team, Dowell should have gone on loan but presumably Marco wanted a closer look at him; feel sorry for the lad, he's barely played and can't have any enthusiasm for playing at that level anymore.
Like all players though, you have to prove you deserve a place in the team. He hasn't really shone in any of his games with the senior side, and if he can't show that he's better than under 23 level then he'll never get out of it. He has an awful lot of excuses made for him does Dowell.

Agreed Mick. I know we were top but it's been turgid watching the U23s this season.
I used to be a big fan of Unsy but I've been steadily going off him for a good while now. Think we'll see a big shake up of the academy in the summer. Sounds daft seeing as we are doing so well, but I think Brands will want to put his own stamp on it.

Brands will want a shake up of the academy and a system of coaching that reflects the first team style of play to allow a pathway to the first team
I can see a few coaches getting replaced and possibly by foreign coaches
Not sure how Brexit will affect this though
