Everton Youth Teams Thread

Playing devils advocate here because I genuinely have no idea, but is it not possible that the club has made a conscious decision not to talk about injuries/give too much coverage to u18s for safeguarding reasons? I don't mean to comply with laws, I mean making their own decision that lads of that age would be better off not being scrutinised to the extent that some people would evidently like, and it maybe isn't that important whether a couple of fans know whether a sixteen year old boy is out of favour or injured?
It could be, and in many ways I would agree/happily accept that stance, especially on the younger age groups (u16s and lower), but they haven't said that, so...

Yeah I might be way off. It was maybe coming from personal feelings where I find it a bit odd how some people get all funny about the club not telling them whether a schoolboy has got an injury or not. Whether it’s what they’re doing or not, id rather it was something they adopted, but I wouldn’t really expect them to say it’s what they’re doing, as that would kind of defeat the object.

I honestly think it's just because we are crap at the social media side of things mate.

Streams that go down constantly or are really poor, audio issues on radio commentary...things like hardly any updates for u18's and the like is just standard for them. Everything is done too late.

I get quicker updates off @Ring master on here than from Everton's Twitter/Website/Facebook updates

No they are just inept, no excuses for being the worst for youth coverage in Premier league by miles.

It’s well accepted that the club are very protective of the u16s / Schoolboys and rightly so, I’m not sure that this a written policy but it happens , and I have no problem with it . There is virtually no info on our u 16s given out by the club, I know of a few people who have knowledge of and watch the u16 , I would add I’m not one of them, and they by and large keep in line with club policy . Good examples are that we’ve had at least 5 u15/16s play for England in the past12 months, names can be found ,but nothing official from the club and individual Schoolboys have been putting on Twitter that they have a Scholarship with us, but the Club won’t announce anything until July. It’s a “policy” that works well for u16 and obviously needed.

Yeah, agree on most of that. I think that if they were doing that though they should tell the fans, because a) it shows that they are protecting the best interests of our young players, and b) lets the fans know that they're actually doing it so that they are not expecting/trying to find info on what is happening.

Fair point.

Remainder Everton u18s in 3rd on a run of 5 defeats from 7 all comps-or 4 from 6 in the league, with our last 3 wins in league having us score 4 each time [4-0/4-0/4-2] Play home tomorrow morning 11am v man city who have 1 defeat in 12 all comps but only 1 win in 10 in league since august-another team like west Brom who seem decent in cup games but not league games,we will be hoping to make the 4 point gap to top smaller but Liverpool and co are in action as well with games they should win

-----------------------------------
Also Liverpool u23s v Evertons u23s monday night 7pm ko at Anfield dont forget is Live on LFCTV,The mini-derby will also be streamed LIVE for Official Members on evertonfc.com. probably using Liverpools stream, we go into that game top by 4 points, clear of Brighton who play same time
-----------------------

Also The u23s Premier league cup round now has the teams sorted for the next Round after Burnley beat West Brom just now,if that was a draw,Liverpool u23s now knocked out would have gone through. ,They are Everton, Blackburn, Stoke, Sunderland, Burnley, Bournemouth, Notts Forest, Leicester, Swansea, Wolves, Derby, Aston Villa, Reading, Fulham, Leeds, Newcastle-Aston villa are the current Holders-Swansea the losers of the final v Villa won it the year before

Leaders Liverpool 1 down home v Blackburn after good work down the right on 2mins,good finish
Hopefully that stays that way or better,it was nearly 2-0 on 3mins,could have conceeded again on 6mins

1-1 on 11mins

3-1 Man city HT,looks like we again after i said few days ago our last 3 league wins have had us scoring 4 goals each time, like we now need to score 4 again without conceeding or the slim chances based on ht of winning the u18s league are disappearing as we would be 7 points of top with 6 games to go after a pretty bad run of form

Blackburn make it 2-2 on 47mins,bar that 1st 6mins,its been all Liverpool really
Great save on 53mins stops Blackburn taking the lead

Liverpool 3-2 on 64mins a pen-that pen all came from a Blackburn player just kicking the ball out for a corner,4-2 on 67mins,5-2 on 70 after another error
6-2 on 74

We are still 3-1 down
