Everton Youth Teams Thread

Bowler and Broadhead will be good signings for Championship clubs next year. Not good enough for where we want to be but definitely decent players.

I'd still love either or both of them to get a chance, but can't see it happening. We are strange in that way, where we have so many players who are far too good for that level, but we have no intention of trying them out at the higher level. Broadhead especially, I can't understand how he wouldn't be an option of something different from the bench, and if nothing else, PL experience even as a sub only adds to their value. Maybe its just foolish romanticism.

All of those games recently we've needed a goal I'd rather Broadhead brought on instead of king who is hopeless.

It's quite often about luck. If one of them actually had been given game time they may have stayed in. I can imagine Bowler might make the bench if we get anymore injuries. I'm guessing Broadhead was subbed so he is available for the 1st team bench on Monday.

Not sure Broadhead or Bowler are anything more than League 1 starters/Championship squad players just playing a level clearly beneath them at this point. Hopefully their form, notably Broadheads wins them a contract at a club at the end of the season

They'll have no issues getting contracts at clubs in league 1, broadhead should get interest in the championship too

Excellent 2-1 win for Everton u23s v 2nd placed Blackburn u23s who suffered only their 2nd defeat in 11 since early december, it was our 1st league win in 4 and our 3rd home league win or 4 including cup home v Blackburn, it was also our 3rd successive home 2-1 win v them, we move up 1 place to 7th place, I think that was a pretty decent performance form Everton tonight
-------
Next u23s game is away to 2nd bottom team west ham a week Monday at the odd time of a 4pm kick off,
west ham came from 2 down at man utd to win 3-2 tonight
