Liverpool knocked WBA out after they had beat us in the1/4 final, I only watched the last twenty five minutes of the Villa vLiverpool game but Villa looked like the better team with some classy looking players, although Liverpool never gave up and went close near the end, Liverpool being Liverpool I expected them to eventually get the equaliser, maybe they used their luck up with the OG, the shot looked like it was going wide before the Villa player guided it in to his own net.

Was this a one off final, they are usually two legged affairs, and did the clubs toss for choice of venue?

I don't like to make a comparison for someone at 17 but I definitely wouldn't have said Keane.
At this age he looks a leader and is composed but maybe Keane was like that at the same age.

Ideally he has a stronger mentality and more athleticism than Keane.

Hopefully he does well next season and we see more of him

...i have hopes for Walsh & the last CB I’d compare him with is Keane.

Keane is immobile, faces up to strikers like his boots are nailed to the floor. From what I saw of Welsh in this years Youth Cup, he’s mobile, pacy and has a touch of class. The victories over City & Chelsea were built on a committed defence & Welsh was at the heart of it. He was terrific keeping that opposition at bay.

I hope your comparison with Keane is as way off the mark as I think. Please no. Rio Ferdinand type for me.
