All these players have good agents and they all know there value. It’s not just us, I think all the cat 1 clubs will struggle to hold plays unless they can offer first team formal or a clear pathway to it.
Foreign clubs also know that there’s lots of young English talent who don’t get opportunities in the premier league. If they take them for free and get them firing, there’s massive profits to be made selling proven English players to English clubs.
Due to the league not being as strong, there’s plenty of weeks where young players can be given chances that they wouldn’t be given here.
Other clubs will also say they offer a “better” pathway to first team football than we do although I’d argue that we just don’t have anyone good enough really at the moment.

I think people underestimate how much of a mess Everton is in and how badly regarded the whole setup is now.
Not saying it can't be changed, and I actually believe Everton has a great opportunity to be seen as the place for the best youngsters to sign as we basically have nobody under 24 playing regularly.
But they need to first acknowledge the issue, then get a plan in place quickly because Villa, Brighton etc are cleaning up in those markets and have a much more convincing offering.
