Everton Youth Teams Thread

At the end of the day it's all about the money I suppose. The club, the player and the leeching agents. Though I believe Josh is happy with his progression under Neil Critchley and the other young bucks playing alongside him. All of whom are currently making steady progress under the Critch's tutelage.

It's in the lap of the gods I guess but hopefully the young and skillful lad will be at training at Squires Gate on Tuesday morning.
Could see you guys taking Rhys Hughes on loan or a cheap permanant deal, he's out of contract in the summer, plays wide on either flank.

Cheers mate, just asked as I thought he may be playing in PL next season and seen people liken him to Bowen but ive not seen anything if him since he left.

I know he was very highly rated when we bought him and we paid decent money at the time.
From memory, that was part of the problem, we loaned him to Hull at the same time Bowen was ripping it up for them.

I'm sure a player like this will be on NCs radar in those circumstances.Has brought in a few this week that may be needed to cover in some way if Bowler ups sticks.

This lad you mentioned may add some more Toffee spice if we eventually lose JB at some as yet indeterminate date. Hopefully not tomorrow ;)

Only just getting round to watching the Spurs game and it's a real shame Astley never got that loan move to Tranmere to learn off someone like Peter Clarke. Just feel it's pointless having him in the U23's now but I don't believe he's fit for the PL, at least not yet. I'm sure he put a good word in after the game though with the likes of Astley and Warrington going for moves there.

That Alfie Devine is bloody class by the way for them.

He’s a big example of how our poor our recruitment at academy level is.

How he and Joe Geldhart, plus a few others, have been allowed to slip out of the NW for basically nothing in recent years is a sad indictment of where our academy recruitment is currently at.

I expect we’ll see it happen again this summer.

These are the players we should be looking to bring back home if they start struggling to break through. Have Wigan got anyone decent left? Seems like they’ve been fully raided. Noticed Carragher’s lad never left.

….as folk know, I’m not a fan of Everton youngsters going on loan. Folk think it’s a La La Land where they go out, play and perform well every week but it can be a huge culture shock that send players backwards.

Warrington has not even played open-age football and now he’s thrust into a situation where every point is vital. Tranmere’s manager won’t protect him, won’t look after his development.

i hope it works out for the lad but he’s being thrown into the deep end.
