Everton Youth Teams Thread

Well you’re describing him as small and stocky , so I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree.

Edit : the pic I included was a “ Getty image”, I’ve deleted as Mrs blueloon once had hassle using their pics.

Yeh I'm probably way off, don't think he's small as such just not particularly tall lol
Hard to judge sometimes on the screen sometimes

I mean that remains to be seen, but honestly 6 ft 5 gives you enormous advantages.
Yes not writing him off yet, I just haven’t seen much in the lad to get excited about, never stood out for me in the youth team, except that he always seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time so as you say let’s see how he gets in the future and maybe realise the potential that many people see in the lad.

Wouldn't be against a reshaping of the academy structure again. Doesn't seem to make sense that the rhinoceros is director of the academy and U23s head coach. Make him pick one or the other and then if Frank has no Chelsea mates to bring up maybe have Ferguson managing those for a bit.

At least people have stopped making the ridiculous Viera comparisons. We don’t see the things the coaches see, and at 18 he’s got PL minutes under his belt under three managers. He always strikes me as a disciplined, consistent player who comes on and does the job asked of him without being a stand out or overly flashy. The kind of young player any mid table, cash constrained club need in their squad, and we need to be converting players like Onyango into squad players in the same way Gordon and hopefully Dobbin are. If we can it may even mean we don’t go down future routes like Delph, Gbamin, Scneiderlin, Cleverly etc.

Fair enough but those three game, five minutes in the FA cup v Sheffield Wed, about eight minutes in the Chelsea game this season and twenty minutes v Aston Villa the other week, the lad did absolutely nothing that stood out, one good pass, one tackle one shot, nothing, of course he didn’t do anything wrong either the games just passed him by.
