Ipswich pay mid table championship wages anyhow so from a career standpoint he is better off going to L1 promotion hopefuls than a Wigan, Luton or Blackpool. He could've already been at a higher level but on less moneyBy once you mean if and if they do then yes.

Just seems a very 2d way of looking at things for a footballerOkay but he didn't and he's in League One and I don't consider that high level football. Not sure how many times I have to write that sentence.
It's all relative surely? Even leaving aside the thousands of players who don't make that far, the huge majority of academy graduates won't end up playing the bulk of their football higher than Broadhead is now, so it seems bizarre to claim that isn't a high level. I don't know how many times I have to write this sentence, but for as long as people labour under the massive misapprehension that everyone in the academy is a potential future PL player they are going to be wrong about pretty much everything they write about the youth set up.Okay but he didn't and he's in League One and I don't consider that high level football. Interesting to see this Dan Rice leaving Saints as Head of Youth Recruitment to come to our set up, Thierry Small must be wondering what’s going on.
On the subject of Small, was the compo ever settled or is that still ongoing?
Other than that, our DoF must have a pretty large team working or him now, hope there’s some tangible results in the next year or so.

Well it's pretty easy to work out what i'm talking about I think. As always, the post is a reply to a point being made but doesn't necessarily have to be specifically aimed at you in every sense. You may not believe every player is a potential first teamer, but plenty do, so the point can still be made. Your comment - and plenty of others i've seen you make - also suggest that your beliefs aren't a million miles away from that. So crack on I will.I don't believe this so not sure what you're even talking about but crack on.

Well why reply to me in the first place then.
I said I don't believe League One is high level football. Got absolutely zero to do with my perception of Everton academy players. Spend some more time in this thread and you'll notice I think most are rubbish.
its just slightly bizarre to think of the millions that play football in the country if you make it to top 2000 or so out of all of them its not high level.
but everyone's entitled to their opinion and that's yours.
Because that's how forums work? I was replying to your post because I was addressing a post you made but then expanding on it to make a wider point, like normal people do. If i'd solely wanted to chat to you I could have DM'd you, or said 'you' rather than 'people'. Not for the first time, i'm going to ask you to remember that someone replying to one in every 43000 posts you make doesn't mean they're stalking you.Well why reply to me in the first place then.

Thinking the players are rubbish wouldn't preclude you from being one of the people i'm talking about. I'm talking about the principle of it, not the actual players themselves. Some people think every player in the academy is seen as a future PL player, but they aren't, That's the point. Some of them will be lucky to have a career in professional football at all, so to identify someone who has played in the Championship, looks like they may well be going back there again, and recently scored a competitive international goal as not playing at high level seems to show a complete lack of understanding of almost everything to be honest.
