Everton Youth Teams Thread

Decent little 4-1 win but honestly could have been about 8.

Really hope Dixon can stay fit as he's the brightest RB talent we've had in years, two centre halves I'm still not sold on but they didn't have much to do, ISS is a solid defender but offers nothing going forward A.K.A. isn't a LB.

McAllister very industrous but his ability is pretty poor and he wastes a lot of good breaks he makes himself sadly. Metcalfe improving, can see he's still rusty from his layoff, Djankpata quietly goes about his business. Front 3 as threatening as they usually are but equally as wasteful as they usually are. Mills miles too good for this level.

Yeah I like the look of Dixon. Decision making isn't the best when attacking but he definitely has something about him

Not sure how old Dixon is now, but brome through quite well as an under 16, then disappeared a little maybe injuries? Nice to see him back performing.

I agree on Mills too. It would be nice to see him get an opportunity in games where we need a goal. He seems to have a nack of getting goals, which we are sorely missing.

It's a shame, it felt like he had been around for some time.

Still very young though, and certainly one to watch.

I agree on ISS, definitely a CB for me, but cant see him being in Dyches thoughts anytime soon. I think Mills should be an option, and apparently did very well on the bleep test.

He's too short, for now, maybe he'll still grow a bit.

Don't care how many fantasy squad lists Zat makes with Samuels-Smith at LB he just isn't one. CB all day long.
Was it Odin or Ishé that played tonight? Ishé got sent off v the RS so you'd think he would have been suspended? Though isn't Odin a right back? Not clear from the twitter feed.

ISS had a strange second half. He was beaten a few times and ended up jogging back (on one occasion shrugging and walking back) when the defence had been opened up on his side. Still very young and developing, I know.

Dixon is a nice little player, with a taste for a tackle. Unfortunately, the little means he probably needs a growth spurt to have a chance.

We seem to turn out a series of generic midfielders, who end up having decent professional careers but not with us and not at PL level. Be nice to see someone who enjoys the defensive side, who is sturdy enough to compete in midfield and who is good on the ball. Not Price, then. Maybe Onyango? Maybe Djankpata? (I thought he had a good game last night.) Maybe Warrington after his loan? Mind you, that midfield production line might serve us well if we do go down.

Lovely goal from Okoronkwo and he worked hard during the game. Kouyate was also pretty busy.

Mills? Yes, he is way above this level, but I would love to see him get more experience playing against professionals. (To be fair, so would he, probably.) Most PL full backs would currently have him on toast and he can get a bit lazy with the defensive side of things.

….funny how folk see things differently but ISS is a definite LB for me. i get the impression he plays in 2nd gear, nothing spectacular because it’s relatively easy for him. Never a moments panic, the good ones all look like they have time on the ball & he knocked some lovely passes down the line. From what I gathered on commentary, he was up against on of their best. Looks a class act to me.

Not surprised Mills did well on the bleep test with his brother being a top international runner. He’s the type of wide player I like, good size, brilliant athleticism, terrific attitude, decent quality & totally uncomplicated. I like uncomplicated. Notice the Leicester commentator saying he was one of the best players in PL2.
