Metcalfe and Mills

Mills would probably be in and around the 1st team squad i reckon if he didnt get that injury! Although i dont know if he would of just stayed at Oxford if he didnt get injured!

Metcalfe just come back from 2 years of not being able to stay fit.....way off being thrown in at PL level, especially in a Dyche team

Yep. Sadly at one time we could have had a debate on this with maybe a few more names. I still like Charlie Whitaker , he’s had wretched luck with injuries.

We wouldn’t have brought him back I don’t think. Dyche doesn’t seem the type to do that at all. I never said Metcalfe was ready I said most likely.

Whitaker is just too small and slight now I think added on to huge chunks of his development time missing with the injuries.

….i haven’t seen enough to comment but i was a real Academy watcher seeing Leon Osman come through and he was a special, special talent. What he lacked in physicality he made up for in genuine quality. Osman had a serious injury at a key stage but the club knew what they had. Maybe a bit of encouragement for Whitaker but talents like Osman are rare.

Nice to see Pickford and Harrison Armstrong on the bench , are they the first of the Year Ones to move up to u21? Armstrong scored a cracking goal in Saturdays 4-1 win at Stoke , the best of the bunch.
