Everton Youth Teams Thread

Strong u 21 team and bench
  • #EFCU21 subs: Griffiths, C. Duffus, Walsh, Dyson, Davies.
  • #EFCU21 starting XI (to face @OneRovers): Hewelt, Kenny, Connolly, Ledson, Browning, Holgate, Charsley, Williams, Rodriguez, Evans, Henen.
Everton Under-21s booked their place in the Lancashire Senior Cup semi-finals with a 2-1 win at Blackburn Rovers.

David Unsworth’s youngsters, however, needed to come from behind as John O’Sullivan opened the scoring for the hosts after the break.

But Courtney Duffus, in just his second appearance back with the Under-21s after recovering from a cruciate ligament injury, levelled matters with his first touch seconds after coming off the bench.

And, with minutes to go, Everton turned the game on its head with a late winner. Jonjoe Kenny’s raking crossfield pass found David Henen, who controlled with one touch and beat Rovers keeper David Raya with another.

george green released by oldham.

What a waste of time he was, must have some bad personality issues him.

He has missed a lot of vital development. Barely played through injury in his first 2 years here.

Shame but it happens a LOT. There are plenty of potential superstars who don't develop for whatever reason.

Can't all be blamed on injuries. Pretty ominous that Oldham gave up on him after 4 games.

A real shame, because clubs don't buy 15 year olds for £2m every day. He clearly had a ton of potential.

A blast from our past youth team, Hope Akpan at 24 making an impression at Blackburn.

GARY Bowyer believes there are not many midfielders in the Championship who can compare to Hope Akpan.
And Rovers boss Bowyer is backing the Nigeria international to get even better the more games he gets under his belt
Akpan, 24 has developed into a fans favourite since his summer move from league rivals Reading.
