Everton Youth Teams Thread


I wouldn't worry too much, we've nobody in the new u17 's either despite being top of our North u18 league with 5 regulars who are 1st Year Scholars being eligible, plus Anthony Evans an U21 regular also not picked. In fact of the " Big Four" N West clubs only Man City with 1 feature in the u17s.

I do sometimes wonder with England at that age if they select batches of players based around a particular club/player.

Scouts/coaches get sent to see certain players at teams and will see their teammates or their local opponents.

I have to say though, on paper our under 17's and under 16's are not as strong as the last couple of years groups to pass through. Evans is the exception though and is one of the brightest players we've had post Barkley.

I mentioned this a few weeks back all these England squads from un16 to un20 are dominated by London clubs with the token lfc Utd & City player thrown in
It's like the can't be arsed to watch the northern teams
But make sure they have the odd Utd Liverpool player in to save face

a squad picked early on in the season can't remember if it was un17 or 18 but there wasn't one Everton player or middlesborough player yet we finished 1st Nd 2nd in the under 18 league last year and were top of the northern section this season at the half way stage

Not the end of the world if a couple of age groups slip through the net!
Its great having the next new thing coming through, but if the likes of Davies, Walsh, Ledson, Kenny, Brewster, Broadhead, Connolly, Yates, Evans, Griffiths, Dowell want to make it to the first team then they need the time to settle without the next new kid snapping at there heels!

Going by there tv channel,and checking my tv,its not actually down to be on,at this minutre anyway for some reason,

we are 1 point ahead of 2nd placed man city with game in hand,and now are 7points ahead of 3rd placed liverpool who missed 2 pens yesterday and drew 0-0,us/liverpool have played 11 each,man city have played 12
