Fair enough but that would mean he got a three year deal when he came over from Ireland when he was sixteen which seems unusual to me.

Injuries must have held Jack back, how often has he played for Everton U 18’s and U21’s since he came? Not a great deal I would wager.
That seems pretty standard for getting a youngster from outside to sign for us - a guaranteed 3 year pro contract at 17.
