Everton Youth Teams Thread

....he looked useful when their U21s played us last season and I think he came on as sub in the recent Premier League game. That is some impact.
True eggs he did come on,
Very direct ,swiss lost there heads with the little skirmish over the ball not getting played out , England seemed to be more up for it after that. he gave them the outlet we were rubbish before that.

I watched some very good games between Everton & United in the younger age groups (10s, 12s & 14s) at finch farm over the weekend.

There was a big crowds down there and even though it's supposed to be non competitive in the younger age groups that certainly wasn't the case. If that's non competitive, I can't imagine what it's going to be like when it comes competitive but it was really good to watch.

....nothing better than watching youngsters playing footy and enjoying themselves. There are late developers but you can spot talent even at a very young age.

How did the games go ? Any stand outs ?

I know the ideology is that that youth teams progress and hopefully one day fill and support the first team but I must say these days I'm more interested in the youth teams. This is probably my favourite thread on GOT.
I'm with you on this. While there's nothing like watching us put 6 past a team for lifting your mood, I really enjoy the few snippets of our youngsters I get to see on TV. I'm not English but I'd happily watch Connolly and Kenny playing for EnglandU19s, while less interested in say Ross/Stones playing at full level. The Youth set up for me is an interesting sub set of being an Evertonian which I really enjoy. I just wish the OS were a bit more proactive in this area. I'm not expecting Manu/ Chelsea TV type stuff but I know from searching for info on games that other clubs do their Youth teams far better than we do.

Well you just had to see the commitment Saints put to streaming the game against us live on YouTube to show the deficiencies in the way our club gives coverage to the youth teams. Are they maybe doing it to decrease the visibility on our up-and-coming stars? Who knows. The least they could do is cover some matches, even if it's just commentary, for EvertonTV subscribers.
