Everton Youth Teams Thread

If Beaumont Clark can bulk up a little I think there might be a player in there.

Like what I see from Aled Thomas again, naive and raw but good size and looks a better footballer than we usually create at centre back.
Thomas is playing up a level no? This would be his second year of his scholarship @ u18s.
That’s the sort of progress I like seeing vs 19-20yr olds who can’t lock down a guaranteed spot

Yeah think he’s maybe just turned 18?

Looks a big lad and calm enough, he struggled positionally and wasn’t aggressive enough but he seems talented as a footballer. Not our usual Morgan Feeney/Tierney type.

Last night was a good match for the “ get him in the first team” brigade to watch and realise the step up it is from this level to the PL . Benjamin was lively all night, good turns and runs on the left, then in one great turn inside he hit a sloppy short pass that gave away possession and they went upfield and scored the winner. Poor defending didn’t help . Heath too was lively but gave a poor pass to Armstrong which their attacker nicked and had a clear shot on goal which went just over. You expect mistakes at this age , that’s how they learn , but we know that most of last nights side won’t get anywhere near a PL start. But I enjoyed it anyway.

….good news, thanks for posting.

January might be too early for a loan spell. Given his age and his contract finishing next summer it’ll be interesting if he moves on or the club offer him another deal.

i think they'll definitely offer him a new deal, possibly have already.
3 months from now until end of January transfer window so you'd hope he's ready for 2nd half of the season by then, a loan should be possible, can't see Dyche using him.

Indeed, extending contracts of injured players is something we’ve done many times in the past at u18 and u21. It can be unpredictable how youngsters recover from injuries as bad as his , but with his talent a 2 year deal is not out of the question.

….i thought the time to use him was last season but Dyche clearly preferred Dobbin. Mills just seems the type to have suited the RM spot but I can only assume Dyche and his coaches are less convinced. It’s all about opinion.

Just watching some of the City youngsters playing at Spurs tonight...Wright O Reilly Simpsin- Pusey.....they all look so comfortable with the ball... natural footballers....

City have invested heavily in their youth recruitment for a good while now....should be no surprise they get a good number of players come through
