Everton Youth Teams Thread

Does anyone know if David Moyes was at the under 21 game last night?

I think Mills could be involved with the senior team far sooner than expected.

Only for the injury I think he would be first choice on our right wing now.

Very much doubt it...he keeps complaining that he has a lot to do. I guess going from doing nothing for so long to suddenly having to work long hours has a role to play. Probably, and understandably so, spend a fair amount of time in recruitment and in trying to improve the way we play to get more goals.

Probably, but I would guess that Baines at least would be there and possibly Alan Irvine and/or McKinlay.

….to be fair, he is/was an avid watcher of football matches. I don’t think he’s reliant on YouTube clips.

He said in last press conference he's spending 2-3 hours per day in the recruitment department as well as his normal coaching duties.

And so he should...you don't get paid millions to work a 9 to 5 job. You can see that it's getting perhaps a bit much for him. Clearly still has the desire to manage, but not sure he has the mental/physical capacity to take on a difficult job that will require him to at least initially work pretty much 14 hours a day.

Shows how impressive it was that Ferguson managed to carry on a further decade.

I don't think it will be too much for him though as this is basically what he has asked for. It's also not like he's out laying bricks for 9 hours, he's sat in meetings deciding if a right winger is better than Jack Harrison.

Do we have any plans to introduce the u18s to the wider fan base prior to the BMD test event?

It would be great to do a some introductory stuff in the lead up to the event i.e. by publishing more 'meet the scholar' type videos, so that when the event takes place the fans have a better understanding of who they are watching and hopefully create ongoing interest in their progress through the ranks. Lets go with names on back of shirts too.

I think it would be great to give our kids a bit of early exposure and positive support.

I guess they'd maybe just re-post the meet the scholar videos/articles etc. but Everton and youth team publicity is very much average.
