Everton Youth Teams Thread

I think with Welch coming back unexpectedly one of the defenders had to leave but that is a pretty low level to go to. Reminds me a bit of the Seb Jensen deal last year.

….lads have gone to the likes of Southport and Skelmersdale in recent years, very few will get near PL level, very few have careers in the game, they find a level. It’s a ruthless game which is why I never criticise a youngster making a few bob whilst they can.

Your hourly hyperbolic message.
It’s a fair point though, that’s practically amateur level so it’s not a level you expect a genuine prospect to be going to at 18. Certainly not an outfield player. There are always exceptions to the rule but generally speaking going that far down means you’re going to be lucky to make it as a pro nevermind at the top level.

I'm sure he has his own thread where it's probably been mentioned, but I couldn't see it with a quick scan - Harrison Armstrong has joined Derby until the end of the season.

Edit: Obviously I am super blind 🤦‍♂️ I blame my pc being laggy AF recently.

It’s a shame we won’t have Armstrong in the u18s for the FA Youth Cup match , but a.chance for Olayiwola to play alongside Foster as. 8/6 , which is a good step up for him as an u16 .

….i mentioned this as soon as the link was made last night and wondered if he might be eligible to still play. I doubt it would happen anyway, but I have it in mind that in recent times a player out on loan did actually play a couple of Academy games for us.

Regardless, if they do go onto the latter stages then at least he played a part.

With Harrison making the bench every game this season and getting a little bit of minutes, but now obviously going out to Derby on loan (not sure on this decision to be honest).
Wonder if it opens the door for another player to come in and experience that match day squad week in /week out, even if it means no minutes, it could be a good experience like it seems to of been for Harrison.
I'd imagine if it was anyone, Moyes would possibly be looking below the under 21s, to the more talented under 18s?
