Our youths can't string passes together, no team pressing, barely any movement off the ball and very little skill or composure on the ball.

Absolutely dreadful.
Outfought all over the pitch, little to no desire at all. Sometimes the gap between the front and midfield was 30-40yds, majority of the players going through the motions which is a sad sight.
We currently have one of the worst 1st team squads in living memory with holes all over the pitch and this lot made our 1st team look like 1970s Brazil.
Should be embarrassed of themselves with that lack of application today.

I was going to ask how Bates has been fairing with the u21s. He never looked particularly interesting at the u18 level to me and I was genuinely surprised he got kept on.

no team news put out on Saturday by this useless club so not mentioned until now
….suggests he’s well thought of. Looks like we got him from Arsenal, so might be part of the agreement that he gets U21 game time and a pro-contract.
Akarakiri has intrigued me since we signed him when he was apparently 15 and not 16 until September. It’s a bit pedantic of me , but it’s always been assumed that you had to be 16 on 31st August to become a first Year Scholar. It’s great to see him getting u21 game time , he seems to have got ahead of Foster and Clarke who have been more regular at u18s . It’ll be interesting to see who’s in the team tomorrow night .
