For every 100k we get for an academy player we can spend 400k on a player bought on a 4 year contract assuming there is budget for pay etc.
This is why we are seeing so many academy players from all clubs being moved on. Dobbin goes and Tim comes for 10m. We get 10m in immediate PSR headroom and spend 2m PSR spend if Tim is on a 5 year contract.
I don’t like what PSR is doing to academy players really. Makes them a commodity
