Everton Youth Teams Thread

Any youth players people think will get a game in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup? Obviously players like Ledson and Grant are out on loan and cup tied so it would have to be some of the ones that haven't gone out on loan yet. Maybe Dowell or Walsh?
I think Holgate has the best chance based on the fact that we have no cover for Coleman with Browning , Pennington injured, Hibbert lacking match practice and so a good chance to start him off at right back. Walsh appears to have dropped below Dowell , Davies and Evans , based purely on him being sub for u21s, which I'll admit is pretty thin evidence. So I'd go for Dowell as 2nd favourite, not PL ready yet but a spot on the bench for him and maybe Connolly would be nice rewards for their play this season.

Is johnjoe kenny a right back?

Hopefully theres no injuries and we see one or two get some minutes in the FA Cup.

...he's played lot's at CB in the junior ranks but you have to think he'd play RB in open age football.
Yeah, I'm hoping Jonjoe is the long term understudy/replacement for Coleman. We have well defined development plans for our youngsters , sometimes they fall behind, sometimes get ahead, Kenny seems smack on , good loan spell, captain U21 etc . Although not a natural RB,it's highly likely Holgate's plan will be an introduction there as per Browning/Galloway . Holgate and Kenny are nowhere near PL level yet, but with a wee bit of faith in them we will hold off paying the mooted £8mill for that Leeds RB and spend the money on areas where we are weaker.

You think Kenny and Holgate may go on loan to a championship club next..or scuppered due to brownings injury?

Ugo Ehiogu has called for our young players to ensure they factor in the conditions as we return to Barclays Under-21 Premier League action away to Everton this evening (Monday, December 14).
We take on the Toffees for the third time this season at Southport FC’s Merseyrail Community Stadium, kick-off 7pm.

Southport’s FA Trophy clash with Worcester City was postponed on Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch and while Under-21s Coach Ugo praised the stadium staff for getting the pitch back into a playable condition, he says our players will need to be mindful of the elements in the aftermath of Saturday’s downpour.

“The conditions could be a factor but regardless, we need to compete,” said Ugo, whose side beat Everton 4-1 in our first Barclays Under-21 Premier League fixture of the season before losing out at Goodison Park by the same scoreline in the Premier League International Cup at the end of August.

“Southport’s game was called off on Saturday but they’ve managed to get the game on tonight which is super-quick and credit to them for that.

“I think the conditions will call for a very compact, committed performance and you wouldn’t expect there to be many goals, so the first one will be crucial.

“In terms of the game, we’ll get what we normally get with Everton – a real tactical test. Last week against Southampton we allowed them to get too much of the ball, so we want the lads to work hard in and out of possession as we look to get the better of Everton tonight.”

Follow us on Twitter @SpursOfficial for live updates from the game.

Squad: Voss, McDermott, Amos, Carter-Vickers, Coulthirst, Georgiou, Hayford, Lesniak, Miller, Sonupe, Townsend, Veljkovic, Walker-Peters, Walkes, Winks.

The ones to watch from our lot are - CCV, Velkovic, Walker-Peters & Winks. Obviously you all know Townsend.
