Everton Youth Teams Thread

Are Jonjoe Kenny and Callum Connolly injured as neither of them have featured in any games this season. I know they both went to the U19 world cup but so did Ledson and he's played a few games. I remember Connolly went off first game of the tournemeant with minor injury but can't remember hearing anything since about either of them.

I think both Kenny and Connolly got injuries while on England duty, although not much has been mentioned of Kenny's. Also Pennington did his hamstring just before the season started and will be out for a few months, and Browning is either still recovering from, or had a setback in his recovery from the long term injury he got last season.

When you add Holgate and Galloway into he mix that's quite a bunch of talented defenders. (And that's not to mention the likes of Foulds and Feeny who have been playing above their age groups).

U18s lost 1-3 to City at home. Looks like it was an extremely young team:

And a new name on the subs bench, Kyle John. He's not a Scholar so presume he's a 15/16 year old still at school. Apparently he used to bang in the goals as a 10 year old but very little info recently. In the last few years we've rarely started a young non-scholar before Christmas so it will be interesting to see if he plays.

Browning says he should be back in 'a couple of weeks'.

Connolly and Kenny back from injury or whatever and from that line up looks like they are the starting CBs .
#EFCU23 starting XI: Hewelt, Robinson, Connolly, Kenny, Jones, Walsh, Davies, Dowell, Charsley, Henen, C. Duffus.

Oh and they went 1-0 up after about 2 mins, Dowell crosses , Charsley volleys in .
Not sure about Seeing Davies and Dowell there , was hoping they may get a run out tomorrow, but I guess there's a number of new 1st teamers needing game time.

Davies and Dowell won't be involved tomorrow then.

Another win for Unsy's u23s
FULL-TIME: #EFCU23 2-0 Derby. @harrycharsley's first-half brace ensures another #PL2 victory for David Unsworth's side! Report to follow.
I think that's them undefeated in 5 competitive games this season , and I forget how many ( 4 or 5?) they went undeated at the end of last season . Another clean sheet with a different CB partnership .

It is a decent looking team this year.be interesting to see will it be a fairly settled team or alot of chopping and changing.like somebody mentioned above charsley seems to be in a good run of form.seen his name mentioned a fair bit in pre season.
