Everton Youth Teams Thread

.....Henen looks to be in better Nick than last season from what I've seen. He also looks to have put on some bulk. A young lad moving to a new country and culture, I think it probably takes 18 months to settle in and for the penny to drop.
Ya defo eggs.he is definitely after filling out and from that clip doesnt look like it cost him any pace either.
Ya even older professionals it can take them awhile to settle and it is understandable.everyone thought lamela was to soft and wouldnt make it and he is starter every week for spurs now.

Pennington and Browning are among the candidates to fill the vacant RB position while Coleman's out, so it would be good to hear any reports on them.

Holgate might be an option to.thought bar the late reaction for the goal he had a decent game.if galloway doesn't go out on loan he could be an option to.is browning fully back fit from his injury?

Both injured I think. I think Koeman mentioned in his first press conference that Pennington was going to be out a few months. Browning is still getting over his injury from last season.

Both fit enough to start tonight ? But yeah, maybe too soon after their injuries to expect much from them.

Our U21 team from 3 years ago (from the OP):

Taudul, Kenny, Touray, Junior, Browning, Pennington, Kennedy, Grant, Hope, Lundstram, Long.

Everton U21s subs: Springthorpe, McLaughlin, Duffus, Jones, Ledson

Quite a few no longer with us now. Out of those Lundstram is doing ok for himself. Browning, Pennington, Grant, Ledson and Duffus still with us.

Kennedy plays for Cardiff, Hope is at Bury and Long is at Burnley so they've done well too.

Reasonable output that for an under 21 side. Especially considering Browning/Kenny/Ledson/Pennington/Grant all have a good chance of doing something at a good level too.

With him being on loan at Port Vale last year I'd forgotten that Kennedy had gone to Cardiff. Burnley seems a good move for Long, but it's funny that after moving for first team football he's ended up out on loan at Fleetwood for the season.

I think we've got more in the current u23 squad with a chance of playing for us long term than from that squad from a couple of years ago though. But I was mainly trying to highlight that sometimes players, for a variety of reasons, don't become the players we expect.

I don't think Kennedy has done particularly well at Cardiff to be honest and I doubt Long will be at Burnley for long unless he starts scoring regularly.

Yeh I definitely agree it can be surprising, can't fault the job Unsworth, Sheedy and the rest do as we seem to have more coming through recently than a lot of clubs in the league.

It will be interesting to see if any of the lads become proper first team regulars rather than being on the edge of the first team squad.
