Everton Youth Teams Thread

....thought England were excellent and very unlucky not being in front at half-time. Lets hope they can maintain the work ethic and they are capable of winning this, Encouraging performances by the two Blue Boys.

..wasn't that fantastic. Ledson scoring his pen and then Kenny dispatching the winner. They'll never forget that moment. The 2 young Evertonians were excellent. Get used to winning boys. Ledson to get the trophy off Platini. Magic.

Watched the last 10 and the pens - Ledson scored the first pen (looked really composed), and Kenny scored the winning pen

To think we beat city to the title without these two lads is brilliant. Kenny reminds me so much of Coleman. Very direct pacy, hard working and a constant menace to their left hand side. Ledson was controlled on the ball, reads the game well broke up the play kept it simple with crisp passing ala Barry.
Well done lads, what a great week for academy. Someone in another thread asked how we could have a higher media exposure. Well the PR department should be straight onto the echo, gaining interviews with speedy, kenny and ledson. Its only locally but there is no doubt if a young player wants to progress, he should go to us and not the RS. The futures bright, the futures blue!!!!

First game of the Toulon u20's Tourney for England tomorrow, it's being shown on BT Sport at 18:00. Garbutt likely to start again, Browning will play as well hopefully but probably at right back replacing Jenkinson who isn't eligible, both CB's from the U21's game v Wales are available to play plus Eric Deir.

Edit:- England play Qatar, so Browning might get a go at CB.

I had a very interesting chat with a ST holder and regular away fan of Orient about John Lundstram during the week. He was disappointed that he did not impose himself on the first leg of the play off semi final and feels that his confidence is down on where it was this time last year.

However, he swears that he stands out like a snow tiger on a coal heap when on his game. He seems to be able to make space and time for himself permanently, his control is excellent and his range of passing is really good too.

Interestingly, he said that the really exciting thing about Lundstram is that he passes forward, if at all possible and always tries to inflict as much damage as possible on the opposition. He said that you just dont see that normally at their level.

I asked would they like him on loan if they make it to the championship next season and he said that they would love it but even if they win the play off at the weekend, he would be surprised if there are not stronger clubs than Orient looking for him. He feels that provided the kid is managed and developed rightly, he has everything in his locker to make it at premier league level.

Take of that as you will but I thought it was interesting enough to share.

Haha never heard that saying before, good to hear he has impressed, sounds like a Barry type player, left footed as well, hopefully he continues to develop.
