Everton Youth Teams Thread

Before the game Saunders and Pearce were saying that the Welsh right winger was their best player and that he might get the better of Garbutt as he hasn't played much and is untested at this level, wrong. He's not been tested a lot defensively but going forward looks great, comfortable with the ball, good passer and his crossing is excellent.

Do like Redmond

...I do as well and said as much on another thread a couple of weeks back. I was fairly put down by others quoting his goals per game stats, but I think he's got real quality and he looked on a different planet last night to the likes of Ince and Ings. I imagine the vultures will be circulating now that Norwich have gone and I wouldn't mind if we were one of them.

3 brilliant leftbacks would just be greedy, right?

Baines for the Lahm DM role, anyone?

Oviedo played on the left side of midfield after Baines came back from injury and played well, in fact in his last league game (WBA) he played right midfield and though I didn't watch the game, those that did reckoned he was our best player on the night.

Piece in the Guardian about the u17s England game tonight and that Barkley was in their shoes 4 years ago.

It is both nice for us but a bit sad on a wider scale that of the lads playing in that game the only two that have got regular league games this year are Barkley and Deulofeu with Everton.

Come to Everton lads, we cannot afford to pay you much but we'll play you and make you stars!
