Everton Youth Teams Thread

That was a poor showing. Not many positives for Everton. Baningime looked ok but they took too many touches and I don't think they are used to the pace and intensity of competitive footie.

Nothing wrong with the youth teams losing once in a while just to remind them that theres lots to improve to make the grade.

Blackpool next (?) theyre in a mess so hopefully with our stars back we can get to the next round.

There is a 4second vine on Twitter, with a comment from an Everton fan saying that's not a pen. If that's the challenge, then it's a disgrace.
Was a brilliant challenge yes he took the player out but got the ball first.
And to think that Lee propert used to ref in the prem.

Kieran Dowell played full 90 mins for England u 20 in 2-0 win v Netherlands , Calvert-Lewin came off the bench . Interestingly, the line up has Dowell playing Defensive MF alongside Axel Tuanzebe , in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Tuanzebe is the talented Man U youngster who had Niasse in his pocket when we played them the other week.
Kenny an unused sub.

Saw the goals, he was involved in the passing move that set up the first goal and played a good through ball in for the second. Played well apparently.

England u21 beat Kazakhstan 1-0 to qualify , Galloway and Holgate played 90 mins , got a couple of mentions in the match report.:

Ward-Prowse was then denied himself just after the half-hour mark when Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s deep cross was knocked back into the area by Brendan Galloway. The England captain lined up a shot towards the top corner but a heroic header from Altynbak Saparov diverted it over the bar.

With just a single goal to show for their enterprise, the danger was always there though and it took a great block from Galloway to deny Alisher Suley an equaliser after Yan Vorogovskiy pulled a cross back from the left ten minutes before the break.

Kazakhstan began the second half with similar gusto, but it was still the Three Lions posing the greater threat with Gray being just a whisker away from doubling the lead after a neat run into the box led to a shot just wide.

An in-swinging cross from debutant Mason Holgate almost caught out Pavlov Stanislav, with the Kazakh keeper desperately back-pedalling before the Everton man’s effort clipped the bar and went over.
