Everton Youth Teams Thread

i would like to think koeman has a plan for introducing the likes of walsh and kenny into the first team throughout the season though early signs arent good. maybe with the traditional busy period at xmas he might be forced into it. not sure how many of our african lads will be away in january but that might open up a few opportunities too.
I agree with your " though early signs aren't good" . There was a comment from Kenny the other week which went almost unnoticed . It went something like I'm hoping to get into the mangers 1st team plans this season " but I've only had one brief conversation with him so far". It startled me and stuck in my memory . Maybe Kenny is just paying the price for those England games in July and missing our pre season , and RK has to make the 1st team his priority but you'd have thought that most of the u 23s would have had a decent conversation with him by now ending with an encouraging " now pish off and work on your weaknesses , Unsy and Walsh will keep me informed about you".

well this is it, if walsh has a role as a go between for u23s and first team he will hopefully be putting the case for them to be involved with the first team.

ManUtd u23 1- RS u23 1 , so no change at the top of the PL2 . Interesting weekend ahead, 1st v 4 th us v RS and 2 nd v 3rd , Southampton v City. Whatever happens we'll still be top after these matches.

The reds have got loads of first teamers in there team who they've paid loads of money for including there best centre half, Sakho.

I hope our kids keep up the good work and give them a good hiding.

We have 1 player. They have plenty, Sakho at 18 million, Ilori at 8, Ings at 8 to name 3. Their reserve team "filled with kids" will probably end up more expensive than a lot of premier league first teams.
Plus half of those that are "youth" players have been bought in from abroad. Conversely, an amazing 9 of the 13 involved in our U23 game against Reading the other night are local lads I think.

No sight of them for the U23's nor U18's so what do we make of the chances of Brewster, Holland and Broadhead? All three were impressive last season so do we think either they've dropped off development-wise compared to others? Or do we think it's a consequence of Koeman not promoting as many to the first team as we would have thought? Seems U23 squad is enormous now due to only Holgate being promoted (or was). Can see a fair few loans in January and another bottleneck happening next summer with more outgoings which is a shame.

I worry what happens when the U18's move up and we're not really left with much talent coming up behind that.

Everton u18s in 6th are trying to close the gap to 5th today,a win wont get them any higher, they are playing 7th placed middlesbrough u18s 12.30 ko
