Everton Youth Teams Thread

I've watched Walsh and Davies numerous times and without dissing Davies - I reckon the only reason Davies is higher in the pecking order is Walsh was away on loan last season - the pair of them have what it takes I reckon.
Isn't Walsh more like a deep playmaker? Only seen him a few times looks the part though.

Yep I would say Walsh would have been on the bench as well during the crap run where Koeman decided to take more of a punt on giving the younger players a chance.

Last game I watched Walsh was Southampton away for the u23's where he was head and shoulders above everyone else ( including Davies ).

I'll be happy see us get Schneiderlin in and then him, Gueye, Davies and Walsh scrap it out and rotate for the 2 midfield positions and once and for all get rid of ( easier said than done ) Gibson, Cleverley, McCarthy and Barry.

I've left Besic out of the mix as we just ain't sure if he can get a run of games together without breaking down.
Yeah that how I see it, hopefully that will be the case. These two young lads are cracking players and are both good enough.

Yeah I remember somebody posted a link with the Southampton U23s manager saying we had the best 3 midfielders in the league, and that night Walsh was the best of them.

After the game Unsworth heaped loads of praise on Davies and mentioned Walsh afterwards. It was actually quite clever he done that. It was just after the Chelsea 5-0 where Davies had done well and then was back playing for the u23's ( so was looking to give Davies a confidence boost even though he was pretty quiet that evening ) whilst Walsh was superb that evening. Taking the ball and just pinging 40 yard balls all over the shop.

There's a good clip of Charley's goal on the OS. Nice to see Dowell involved twice with good touches and the defence splitting through ball, we know he has touches like that in him , just needs to do it more often and be more consistent.

⚽️ | This was the goal which gave Everton's U23s a well-earned win over @SunderlandAFC yesterday. Nice finish, @harrycharsley!

City beat Utd 3-1 tonight although Utd had a man sent off within the first 15 mins so it was a bit of a dead rubber.

They didn't get in front until the last half hour though.

Liverpools game was postponed.

CALVERT-LEWIN AND LOOKMAN FIRE LIONS TO WIN OVER GERMANY

I'm not sure if this has been shown elsewhere , but I thought I'd dig this video up from late last year. Initial picture shows Lookman, Connolly and DCL celebrating . The video is worth a watch for Lookman's outside of the boot through ball to set up DCL to score ...... a taste of the future maybe. Cool finish by DCL for his second, Kenny playing too, so not bad 4 players on the pitch for England u20 now at Everton. Dowell was on subs bench.

Oops iPad not great for copying try again

I see In the Echo that Unsy is predicting lots of changes to the U23s with loans , transfers etc but still believes they'll be strong inPL2.
Oh and Walsh is out for a further two weeks.

The more of these lads we can get in the team the better. Academy lads at least put the effort in for the shirt unlike some of the lazy beauts in the first team. Need to bring through a core of players that we can build a winning side around.
