Everton Youth Teams Thread

Yes I prefer to see him almost floating about. I do worry if he will make it with us because like you mention I don't think he's as effective as a winger. Just something about him, his movement off the ball that's always caught my eye. Players who can sniff out where the ball may land or ricochet are few and far between. Cahill was an absolute master at it
Any chance that he can pass on tips to the 1st team? We distinctly lack off the ball movement, at times we resemble a bar table football team.

lol that's a actually very true mate, it is like watching a table football side. I was actually thinking about Charsley yesterday thinking "wouldn't mind something a bit different thrown into the mix".

Not surprised when the manager is saying Davies is the best performer on the pitch. I reckon there's about another 4 who would show up the first team for the gang of lazy under performing beauts they are.

Everton u23s opened up a 5 point lead at the top of the table in what was there 1st league game for nearly a month,at least for the day,as they beat sunderland u23s 1-0 via a charsley goal on 27mins,in what was a deserved victory though they came under a little late presure, the next u23 game is home to Reading u23s a weeek monday [16th jan]

The u18s return to action this comming saturday morning were its the U18S MINI DERBY at home, this game so far is not getting shown on LFC TV

Same here mate. I've said it time and time again but he reminds me of Cahill as in he has a brilliant knack of being in the right place at the right time. Something that's very difficult to coach.

Would love him to get a loan deal tbh

...20 years of age now. Just saying. Lookman is 19 and has already been a regular in league football for over a season. It puts it in a bit of perspective.

Of course eggs, that's why these players need to be given a loan in a competitive league because playing u23's week in week out isn't going to be enough to make a judgement on whether they can make it or not. Just basing my opinion of him from watching him a few times for the reserves and his movement off the ball

charsley does look decent for u23s and has a great goal record from midfield but i dont think he even trains regularly with the first team like walsh, dowell etc. cant see him ever making a first team appearance for us.

Maybe as our season drifts into its usual abyss a few more players might be given a chance. I reckon your right though mate which is why I'd love him to go out on loan to see what he can do at a higher level.

..I agree. It's tough for them because they just get overtaken in the queue. Just watching Cardiff/Fulham earlier where 16 year old Sessignon scored for Fulham. I fear if it hasn't happened for these lads at Everton by the time they are 20 it'll be really difficult for them to breakthrough.
