Everton Youth Teams Thread

Got Doncaster v Portsmouth on in background , Grant playing left midfield, had a few touches, is getting involved, covering back in defence too , looks like he'll fit in but nothing to show yet that we should keep him . Cue worldly soon.

Maybe League 2 is his level right now, and if he can help them get promoted, then he's got a shot to either work his way up with Donny, or get signed by a championship club and move that way.

Another really good draw for us in the FAYC 5th round.

If we can beat Preston, it's AFC Wimbledon or Hull at home.

City or the RS (so City) will play Southampton as well which is another decent side out.

It really is a good opportunity this year now.

I picked this up from a Jeff Lampkin re-tweet, can't find who we were playing though , maybe a friendly? Good to see him back and scoring goals.
Fraser Hornby :
First game back after the winter break, good 2-1 win happy to start the new year with another goal

Top of the table Everton u23s return to action after a mini break, away to 6th placed sunderland u23 were a win for our lads would open up a 5 point gap to 2nd place, even if it might be just for a day -kick off is midday,[2nd place man city are away to man utd and 3rd place liverpool are away to Leicester both tomorrow]

EVERTON TEAM

Is this Penningtons first game back mate?

Same here mate. I've said it time and time again but he reminds me of Cahill as in he has a brilliant knack of being in the right place at the right time. Something that's very difficult to coach.

Would love him to get a loan deal tbh
He's got the engine of an Alan Ball too. The last few times I've seen him down at Southport he's been playing wide right which doesn't show the best of him. But a great prospect.

Yes I prefer to see him almost floating about. I do worry if he will make it with us because like you mention I don't think he's as effective as a winger. Just something about him, his movement off the ball that's always caught my eye. Players who can sniff out where the ball may land or ricochet are few and far between. Cahill was an absolute master at it
