Just another example of how weak our younger age groups are that they are losing to REMYCA.

No offence to REMYCA but I could genuinely get 10 of my mates to play with me and probably beat them.

Despite doing well in the NECAL, REMYCA would not win the Liverpool premier league, top Sunday sides would beat them.

Any Everton side containing over 16s should beat them.

They should still do but the fact that there's a few big players out there tonight and they're trailing at half time is quite telling.

Weekend results in the younger age groups:

Liverpool beat our under 10s.
We drew 4-4 at u11.
Liverpool beat us at under 12.
We also lost at u13.
I'm not sure on the others.

Wouldn't be too sure.

I can honestly say I've never ever heard of them.

2 years ago they were fighting relegation in the Liverpool county com. They've improved now but not by miles. The league they're in now is actually a lower standard than the county com (now the Liverpool premier league).

I have no axe to grind with Remyca, I know a lot of people involved with them, all good people, but I'd expect our under 15s to beat them.

From where does their name originate ?

I'm not sure but they've only just got on the ladder.

They're called Litherland REMYCA and play on Litherland sports centre (park).

2 years ago they were playing on a field in Maghull.
Nah. Remyca have been around for donkeys years.

The Litherland bit was adopted by the youth teams a few years ago. Try get more local kids involved and applied to join the leagues as Litherland Remyca. Been a couple of years building it back to a decent level for the kids.

While the result is perplexing , it looks strange for me that Morgan Feeney was played in a team of players who all, bar him , haven't started regularly at PL 2 level. They need the game time , he doesn't and there's an England u18 tournament out in Quatar later this month that he'll likely be playing in. Odd game management for the youngster.

I know they're a long established club but they actually only got on the ladder 2 or 3 years ago. Prior to that they were playing behind the pub on the road between Litherland and Maghull.

I think as people have suggested last nights result shows what people have been saying- that the lads immediately behind the Davies year group are a big drop off.

We have a lot of lads out on loan as well and unlike lots of teams don't have a huge squad at under 23s. What I think it shows though, is some lads when given a Janice haven't really delivered. I expect we will see a lot leave this summer. I also anticipate we will see a lot of investment in this squad over the next 2-3 years.

In many ways it will sadden me as we will see lots of lads from outside of the City representing the under 23s. This was always something I took great pride in. That's the direction of travel though and from Unsworth through to Moshiri i can't see the excepting lads who won't be competitive on the pitch.
