Everton Youth Teams Thread

A bit of a mixed bag from Pennington and Holgate there, Sambou looked our liveliest forward in the clips. Dowell as ever shows what a wonderful touch and strike he has , he featured in most of our highlights .... and as ever you wonder what he was doing the rest of the time , but has shown a big improvement in the past few months compared to his early season form.
We haven't had one of those " How crap is Everton TV when the likes of Southamton and Derby do a better job with their U23s" discussions for quite a while ..... I'll restart it if the Spurs game is not shown live :)

5 piont lead isnt mate?
What are spurs / chelsea like at this level?

They're very good, make no mistake if we'd have been level at the end of tonight I wouldn't have give us much hope but now I'm expecting us to be able to play without pressure and enjoy our finish. This Everton team now is not as good as the pre Christmas side but the result tonight is a massive boost, hats off to them.

Spurs have stepped it up lately and have been flying recently as they were fighting relegation. A quick GI through the gears and they've blown a few sides away.

Chelsea played a very young side tonight as they give others a chance but if they want they could probably put out the strongest team in the league imo.

The RS are also going very well lately although they are playing a very strong side with some big money buys in it.

they've lost 2 out of the last 5 and chelsea have lost 3 out of 5. we've won 4 out of last 5.
it seems like we're stuttering cos of the cup sides but we're still the form team in the league.

It's all about the quality of sides they choose to put out though, as they can pick very strong teams if they want.

Chelsea played a couple of 16 year olds & a few 17 year olds tonight. Spurs did it earlier on in the season but got in to a bit of trouble so have now been picking stronger sides and doing very well. Drawing with Chelsea, drawing away to City being edged out by the RS in a very tight game and beating Southampton, Sunderland and another in there last 7.

We've picked weakened sides in other comps recentley and lost them all but we couldn't have guaranteed that these clubs would have played weakened sides again us. After all we are currently top of the league so they could have been very tough games.

We should be able to see it through now though which is great.
