Everton Youth Teams Thread

National teams aren't the best indicator of professional capability, but there seems to be quite a number called up from the lower leagues. Curious to see if any of them end up at Everton this summer (Calvert-Lewin, I believe, came recommended off of a stint with one of the youth teams).

Mate , I believe Unsy knew DCL from his time at Sheffield United and had kept is eye on him since then , it was only this season that he broke into the U20s, no previous England youth team experience as far as I'm aware. Lookman's explois for England youth are likely to have been a factor in his recommendation, while he would have been known from Charlton games he did particularly well in scoring and setting up DCL in one match that we undoubtedly would have been watching.
I was thinking the very same re the number of lower level clubs represented , I wonder if our players give any feedback - I remember when Ledson captained the U17s he did a semi jokey review of his team mates which also included some good comments on their strengths and abilities.

I often wonder how much transfer talk does go on at training grounds of teams at any level. Example does a clip of that Ryan Sessegnon scoring two get shown and the lads have a crack about how good he looks, telling the manager in a jokey way we should sign him. Even the first team targets during the windows.

Always curious as to if that stuff is ever spoken about lol

Well Sessegnon will be the hot property come the summer, apparently Walsh has watched him and Fulham. £10 mill at least I'd imagine, could be harvested by the likes of City who could pay that and loan him back, our strength would be "keep progressing and you'd have a crack at the PL within two seasons with us"

Our strength would easily be "how many young players start at those teams?"

I'd like to sign him and his brother, then send them back to Fulham as long as they as first-teamers for a year. Bringing him in for an U23 season would be pointless.

You might be right on it being Lookman, not Calvert-Lewin. Might've even been Holgate for all I know. I just remember seeing it mentioned somewhere that one of the players brought in received a recommendation from current academy players.
