Everton Youth Teams Thread

I only seen him in the game against United a few months ago and he looked a player. Hopefully he can kick on as he seems to have the ability
Not seen much of him tbh. I dont think he impressed in first few games but then Niasse and DCL came into the team and chances were few.. But seems to be affecting games more often now which is what you want with a striker.

He needs to step up his game if he's going to make the breakthrough. Being talented isn't enough, he should be looking closely at Ross and Davies in terms of what is expected. Looking at the highlights when his free kick hits the post he turns away from play, he should be looking to either get into a defensive position if Derby get hold of the ball or an attacking position if we do.

The losses in cup competitions with weakened teams have maybe distorted things a bit. Since December in PL2 we've played 8 , won 7 , lost to a better City team, scored 17 conceded 7 , 5 conceded in last two games. That's a pretty impressive return in any league given the changes made by promotions to first team and loans.

Although we're 2nd top goal scorers behind City , nobody has really stood out as a goalscorer (except Niasse of course!) and it reflects not only past weakness but the club's desire to fill weaknesses that the young forwards offering the most promise are the ones we've bought in in the last 9 months, DCL and Sambou, and I think we could have added Donkor to that if he hadn't been injured. Sambou has been a bit of a slow burner . Unsy had him in his sights this time last year and suggested he was a future PL player when he bought him from Coventry in June. He's had to bide his time with the likes of Duffus, Dyson and Henen being played ahead of him early on , it will be interesting to see how he plays in the last few games. At 19 he looks promising .

Seriously if you are using what he does after his free kick has hit the post as an example of what he needs to do then you're talking rubbish!

He has something that perhaps 1% of players have 99% of players can track runners and be tactically astute they are learnt traits yet you complain. He isn't a water carrier & the brief cameos i have seen in the first team he worked his Socks off.

If he doesn't make it then Everton themSelves will have to take a large responsibility as I'd bet if he played in Spain he would make it.

Five EFC youth (plus one ex-EFC) called up for England U-20 squad (Connolly, Kenny, Dowell, Lookman, Calvert-Lewin plus Ledson).

Davies is still in U-19 squad, despite being first team regular, possibly to help them out and because of crowding above.

Holgate called up for England U-21.

i see we dont have any in the u17 squad. denny must have been dropped.

That's impressive at under 20 as it's a very strong group of players. They won the euros at U17 level and, along with Brazil and France, are one of the favourites for the U20 world cup this summer.

Thought Davies might have been called into the U21s actually. Staying at that level won't do him any harm in the long run though as he's captain and having the responsibility will be good for his development.

Galloway had started to hold down a regular place in the U21 squad so his omission just re-enforces what a terrible loan deal this has been for the lad. Really feel for him.

International call ups are not a massive benchmark in these earlier years but that sort of backs up that the age groups around the 17/18s is not that great at all.

Enjoy the current golden generation.

yeh they're obviously not as good but find it weird denny has been left out.
