Everton Youth Teams Thread

Certainly the wording of Vint " leaving to pursue other opportunities " was the euphemism used many times in my working career when senior managers were being moved on. It's disappointing in a way , while I've got no particular knowledge if he was good bad or indifferent in his work the fact that we were trying something different was refreshing , shame it didn't work out. The suggestion is that the job will go to someone in position at the club, fair enough if he's the best person for the job but this role is one the most important one in our club below U23s manager , it needs to be a top class appointment.

Seems of late we've been cherry picking a lot of highly rated personnel from other clubs so maybe we'll look externally again for this position.

With such change last season with Koeman and Walsh, perhaps it's not too surprising that Vints thinking and methods may not have fitted in with the overall strategy for coaching and development. I assume Walsh is responsible for co-ordinating that from the top down.
It was good to see the club innovate in this area but employing someone with no football background in this context is a bit like asking an accountant to work as a doctor.

Dallas Cup schedule is here for the U18s who will come over and defend their championship:

Sunday 9 April, 18:30 - vs. FC Dallas U18 Academy (smashed these 3-1 in the semifinal last year)

Monday, 10 April, 18:00 - vs. Maccabi Haifa

Wednesday, 12 April, TBD - vs. CF Monterrey

As always, there are 12 teams in three groups of four. Group winners and highest-ranked second-place team advance. Semifinals are 14 April, championship is 16 April.
