Bizarre goings on at the Academy, and I must admit that solely on the basis of reading his bio I'm not enamoured with Joel Waldron who it is suggested will be in charge at least temporary. Don't know much about the guy except he's a Blue with Operations experience , so maybe I'm being harsh, but I want someone in charge of our Academy who blows the socks off any other candidates. Lee Carsley would do , but unlikely we'd get him from City . I'd be wary of extending our Dutch contingent in case they all up sticks when the Koeman's eventually leave. But it must be the right appointment showing the intent of Walsh and Moshiri.

Very odd goings on. Anyway would you think it would be Walsh who is in charge of this area and therefore his responsibility to appoint successors?

Could be way off base but it strikes me as Vint has seen his arse because his son wasn't good enough for us and has gone to man utd. Feel sorry for Adams seems he walked into a sh*tstorm.

It's never been clear to me if the Academy Director reports to the Director of Football, Walsh, you would assume so but as the DoF was a new position it was never made clear. Walsh himself has always spoken about recruitment whether it's new players or scouts I don't recall him being involved in any coaching appointments or recruitment of coaches. Martinez of course was involved in recruiting Dr Vint so our manager clearly has an input into the final say, but I'd expect Walsh with all his knowledge to be involved in any external recruitment if that's the way we go.

Seems simply like faces from the old guard don't fit and power shifts between old and new staff like you get anywhere.

Vint left (for whatever reason) and it appears there weren't too many people asking him to change his mind. That leaves a vacuum and Adams, apparently a Vint hire, may not have liked the way things were looking compared to what he might have been promised.

This fella apparently was stand out from 90 candidates when we hired him so probably would have been a decent hiring.

Strange one alright with that dave adams. But he could have at least have sorted himself proper when getting some photos taken. First impressions and all that. Scruffy. Doesnt look good for his c.v not giving the postion a go.Lets hope we make the right call in the summer.

Haven't got a clue what's going on personally but whatever it is all the upheaval can't be good for the academy in the short term. Vint is from a none footballing background and I'd heard whispers that his methods/ideas didn't always go down too well with some of the coaching staff. But he's apparently been heavily involved in the process of selecting this Adams chap into a very senior role, so if there were any ongoing questions over his long term position you wouldn't have expected him to be given this degree of responsibility in such an important decision process.

So to me, it's all deteriorated very quickly over the space of a couple of days. I can only imagine that Adams bought into Vint, which is why he has jumped ship too. Perhaps the appointment of Adams was actually the catalyst for this and maybe some member of the the board/management team did not agree with it.
