Minimum 20 points deduction for each team involved for the start of next season; plus a 5 year Euro ban (3 actual, 2 suspended) and a massive fine.

This way they also suffer financially at each stage; money on league placings, money on Euro participation as well as the lump sum. This doesn't include the loss of sponsorship by not being in these things.

Also, whilst it's hard to monetise, there is also the loss of reputation (not that some of them had much to lose in that respect).

The punishment has to be harsh, they attacked the very idea of competitive football for their own interests. It has to be stamped on to stop them just coming back in a few years with another greedy, self-serving plan.

UEFA are too greedy themselves to ban them all mate. Its absolutely what they deserve but I'd be very surprised if UEFA cut their own nose off. They are as greedy as anyone.

Not been on here much today as I've been busy, but absolutely astounded at the arrogance and greed of these teams. And a little bit disappointed by the reaction of some mates and so called fans of other clubs that shall remain nameless.

But I whole heartedly agree with the sentiments above, and the harshest of punishments must be dished out to send a message.

I propose relegating all 6 to League 2.
All relegated teams from the leagues above will remain in their place, and all play off teams will be promoted automatically. In League 2, 6th will play 7th in the play off for the final place.

This will do several things.

1. It will serve as the greatest punishment they could each be handed without dismissal from the League itself.

2. It will be a huge boost, both financially and in status for the 28 teams who are either automatically promoted or avoid relegation, and will reinvigorate the competition in each case.

3. It will provide a huge boost in terms of revenue to teams in League 2, League 1 and The Championship by way of the increased attendances caused by the 6 darlings having to grace the lower grounds for a minimum of 4 whole seasons it would take should they each gain promotion back to the PL at the earliest opportunity. Bear in mind, at least 2 of those teams would miss out on promotion in year 1 so would spend at least 2 years in League 2.

4. In the mean time, it would change the layout of the League system in its entirity, and create new opportunities for teams to compete at levels they may never have managed under normal circumstances, including 4 years of alternative European qualifications and essentially a guarantee of new champions in each division.

5. It would also serve as a defacto European ban for each of the greedy 6. And financial fair play should see to it that they could not just spend their way to a simple romp through, even though you would still expect them to be too strong in the first instance. With no Premier League, Champions league, and TV revenue they are used to, and with the exclusion of any parachute payments, coupled with the legal fees they will each have to spend to get themselves out of what has been described as an already signed and legally binding contract, it could be a very precarious place for a number of them to be in, such are their levels of debt.

This would not only teach them all a lesson in humility, but should also show them not to take what they have for granted again in the near or distant future.

If the FA and PL had any balls, this is the action they would take. And I can't see how anyone from the 92 league clubs, other than the shameful 6 obviously, would vote against it.

Make it happen and teach them all a lesson.
This is absolutely spot on and I think should be discussed. It would certainly "save" football financially for the lower leagues and give the Prem teams a chance to break through the glass ceiling as it were. Even the EFL Trophy (Autowindscreen / LDV Vans Trophy) could even benefit from greater exposure and thus bigger prize distribution. This would be the most positive effecting punishment for all concerned.

Dont think I can be arsed watching us rest of the season. This shambles and a lack of punishment thats followed has tipped me over the edge when no fans in the ground and VAR have made this season a hard watch anyway.

Hopefully fans of the other 14 tune off and make their voices heard.

If we were invited and declined the invitation to the superleague then the "classy Everton" shouts make sense. We weren't invited. Our pontificating may be seen as coming from a place of bitterness rather than righteousness.
I was never invited to one of Epstein's 'parties': is my condemnation of them compromised by that non-invitation? Or is my condemnation mere pontificating?

Definitely. I think relegation to the championship isn't severe enough, as they would all keep most of their players for a year, walk the league and come back just as strong. Most relegated teams come straight back up so there's no question any of these would.

League 2 though, potentially 4 or 5 years before PL or European qualifications? Players would walk. That's a long time.

But it would also be a huge positive as you say, and the league would benefit positively from those 4 or 5 years.

If the FA, PL, UEFA, FIFA had any balls, and if they really wanted to make an example of what essentially boils down to cheating, then this would be a fine example to set. They did it to Rangers and Juvetus in the past, I don't see why they can't do it again.

Besides, imagine the competition of those 6 trying to get out of League 2 at the 1st time of asking, knowing the play offs could see them promoted or left behind, without a selection of their expensive stars?

I support every possible punishment upto and including public execution. lol

Although in theory that sounds a fair punishment, what if those said players walked to the other clubs in Europe who where part of this ESL debacle, which doesn’t seem right to me.

Like I said, you would hope those clubs would suffer similar punishment in their own leagues. That would only be fair.

The players leaving would have reduced options in that way, but I don't see why it would be unfair for them to walk to next best available option. It is after all, not the players fault.

Hard to prove a negative, so we'll never know, we just hope they wouldn't have been tempted...but, until you are you'll never know.
