F1 - 2022 Season

This is so good from Lewis. I really like Alonso but such a stupid comment that Verstappen's titles mean more. Especially given his first one was a complete sham. And you know, Lewis actually had competition when he won most of his.

It's a good response by Lewis, however after reading what Alonso said I do, to an extent, appreciate what he's saying in terms of competition last year.

However, he could have added the farce of Abu Dhabi as many would argue that it could take away from Max's win. Swings and roundabouts.

I know it's treading over old ground, but I'm pretty convinced that the stewards were going to either throw Verstappen out of the Jeddah race and/or impose a further ban during the aftermath of that race. I was watching the championship odds on the exchanges after the preliminary results (and all of a sudden the went absolutely bonkers) - Hamilton's price completely collapsing in and Verstappen's shooting out. I reckon it was only some serious political intervention that stopped this and set up the final race showdown. You can look back at the 2021 thread where I was commentating on this in real time.

Money and prestige will have a huge influence in any sport, but the nature of F1, with such complex rules, means the stewards have far more sway.

You don't have to be in the Max vs Lewis debate to see how the sport is far from objective.

What a whiney little b****

I mean, Sky is ultra biased towards Hamilton and to a lesser extent Russell. Same way the Dutch lads whose name escapes me are towards Verstappen. That's natural given they're a British broadcaster, of course, but it is a bit rum some of the shouts they come out with. Looks even worse when they're the official global broadcaster too.

"He doesn't seem to be a driver capable of winning a championship in a normal way," is not a shout someone should be coming out with regardless of who they're a bit bias towards, which is what happened on the Notebook last week

Kravitz, Lasenby, Crofty, and Herbert have all had not so subtle jibes all year long, and have gotten a bit more vocal about the Mercs in recent weeks now that they're looking competitive

Verstappen has boycotted Sky f1 because of some hurty words Ted Kravitz said. As a bonus Horner is also refusing to talk them this weekend.

Surprising behavior from someone who likes to make out they are an alpha who talks frankly and doesn't care about others' opinions...
