I remember playing iRacing back in 2013ish and getting overtaken by some guy called Lando Norris, he was very quick so after the race I checked his profile and saw he was some kid who drove in real life and had just schooled everyone in karting. Over the next couple of years I saw him in races all the time, usually winning. He would also post on iRacing forums aged 13 begging people to vote for him at the Autosport awards where he was up for a young driver award. He won it, got a seat with McLaren and 10 years later just won his first F1 race. Pretty cool.

Complete drive that today, didn’t put a wheel wrong and had the pace regardless. Now the monkeys off his back hopefully he can produce these types of performances more regularly. Great to see another Brit on the top step again.

Well, what do I know.... Amazing result for Lando and thoroughly deserved.

Hopefully we're seeing signs that the gap between Verstappen in that RB and the rest of the field is fading. For all the talk of the sport being dull the rest of the field has been a decent battle pretty consistently over the last couple of seasons but it's been overshadowed by an unreal level of performance from driver and team.

Hopefully, his showing in practice sessions is more akin to what we see in the race, rather than his qualifying pace.

He's going to win the title for sure, but it was nice to see a more competitive race in the last outing.
