F1 2024 (and other motorsport) thread

Bold choice of colour for the Sauber. I think they should introduce a rule where you can't have an exposed carbon fibre on the body of the cars. It's ruining liveries.

Don't mind the carbon fibre, and understand why they do it, tho shame that it's become so ubiquitous, but I find this a bit ugly.

Yeah, bit more colour tinted carbon would be nice as accents. This one looks quite smart with that lighting, but possibly just another 2-tone car when it’s chucking it down at Spa unless that green is properly bright.

Street race in Chicago looking likely.

The NASCAR street race there last year that SVG won was a total banger but i doubt they will use the same layout for F1

Despite all predictions, Las Vagas probably the best race of the year last season.

That maybe so but my point is four F1 races in the same country. To go alongside the four races in the motor racing hotbed of the middle east. That's almost like a whole 60's season taken up, more thinking of just how to bring in cash, than any sporting or cultural benefit to the show.

I don't mind it. How many European races are there? It's a world championship. People rip on American sports champions for calling themselves World Champions when they're just US based. Now obvs there are teams/drivers from all round the world, but if it's gonna be a true World Championship then all regions need to be represented track wise too, and I don't think the proportionality is out just yet. (And would be fine if we lost Mexico to make way for this.)

Hardly surprising, but Christian Horner didn't show up to work today.

A former clients daughters who race in F1 academy have been assigned to RB and whatever Alpha Tauri are called these days. The whole family were at RB Racing hq today and he (Horner) was scheduled for "welcome to the team" tea and biscuits.

Some reports emerging this evening that Liberty Media are putting the squeeze on to bin him off as it's bad publicity, guilty or not.

The Red Bull was launched today and Horner was there:

All was fine until he couldn't handle the curvy body and tried to mount it. :D

Interesting how they've continued the halo type fairing to the back of the car.
