It's hard regardless of who we play. We can't expect to get 'easy' games all the way to the final.

If you look at the draw, if we get past city, we may get Bournemouth/Southampton in the SF.

Either way, we have to play at least two tough games if we want to win.
City next up is the tie none of us wanted. For a very good reason. There's nothing wrong with stating that.

I'd prefer an easy QF and SF and have to beat ine big club to win it.

We can win on our day against anyone. But 4 of the "top 6" consecutively? No.
Absolutely. I look across the park and marvel at how many times they have made it to the finals of domestic cup competitions with very humble opposition for most of the rounds.

it makes a huge difference to your chances of winning.

Its just our bad luck isn't it.

It just never gets easy. You'd have hoped after a tough draw vs Spurs you'd be let off with an easy fixture.

We have so many big fixtures coming up and combine that with a cup tie vs City signals to end of another run. We'd be set up to defend from the 1st minute and have no more than 25% possession. The injury to DCL might cripple us further

Only domestic cup competitions ?
Christ, they beat Spurs in the Champions League final having already lost a few games in that jarg competition.

If it’s our year then it doesn’t matter who we get at what point.
I’d rather get the toughest one out the way now. If we win great and you’d defo fancy us to go on, if we don’t then it’s a case of no other distractions in our quest for the highest league position we can get.

If you look at City’s record in recent seasons.

Last season Arsenal did them in the SF and went on to win it.
Previous year City won it.
Year prior they went out to Wigan in the 5th round
16/17 they got done by Arsenal again in the SF - the same season we did them 4-0 at Goodison.
15/ 16 they got hammered by Chelsea who we then did in the Qtrs before losing to United in the SF.

They’re far from unbeatable and our best chance of doing them is at Goodison, as we’d have almost certainly had to down them in the SF or Final anyway. Is it the draw we’d have chosen? No, are there plenty of reasons to be optimistic about it and our prospects if can get through? Yes.

It is what it is Blues. We can have these.

City haven't got a top striker at present so if you defend the box well and stop the runners you have a chance.

We can beat anyone on our day - the problem is beating them normally wins you the trophy whereas we would still have Utd and Chelsea likely to come - whats the odds realistically of winning all those games?

Again not impossible but I wouldn't be getting to emotionally invested in a result - did that in 09 and cried me eyes out walking out of Wembley after the fantastic run we had on the way to that final it just felt like destiny that year.

Im firmly emotionally invested in the league and top 4 fight - anything in this is a welcome bonus.

Me too couldn't agree more with this.

We will play them in the middle of a crucial part of the season for City with a CL and PL push and im sure this will be there least priority although will still field a pretty strong side.
Its February and were still on for the Domestic double ;)
