These are peaking now

Theyll hit a dip, they always do. We just gotto hope it's when we play them

I think our best mode of attack is almost tailor made to unlock their formo, me. Cancelo vacating the full back role to step into midfield = early switch to Digne/Richy and then a straight heading race between DCL, Dias and Stones.

I reckon we could do these

Totally agree and the other thing is that if we played City in the final they would absolutely play their strongest team.
If you play them in an earlier round the there is a chance that they might play a slightly weaker team.
BTW its almost impossible for them to play a weak team!
In ordinary times a good cup run would get us as fans a few good days out and even a trip to Wembley.
In present times a good cup run is only any good if you go the whole way and win the damn thing. (Squad thin and Europe aspirations considered)
Let’s become the favourites by knocking the favourites out now.

1st time since 2012 and 1979 that we have had 4 home draws in fa cup in a row,
bit odd as well how Spurs was 1st fa cup game between us at home since 1983 [as well as not playing them since 1995 at all in fa cup], and also this City cup game been the 1st since 1981

Tbh Southampton and Leicester with the Fa Cup as their sole aim would probably be just as difficult for us as playing one of these teams (especially if one of them has european distractions and play a weakened team). There’s no easy way around it. It would be great if it was a year where the draw had opened up but since Guardiola Mourinho and Solskjaer started taking cups seriously that’s not happened for a while. It’s not like previous seasons where Rodgers Liverpool, Pellegrini’s City, United couldn’t be arsed and Wenger just swept it up. If we want to win trophies we have to beat multiple good teams. That’s how it is.

I’ve always thought the FA cup is harder to win than the CL. Any CL team would be dreading a run of Spurs, United, Chelsea, City to potentially win it. Liverpool’s run to the CL final was easier than that.
It's down to Covid19. Club revenues even for the monied elite, need boosting. That's why - unlike in previous years - we see near full strength sides taking to the field.
