FA Cup Winners or Champions League - Poll added

Champions League. I've seen us win the FA Cup. Another would be nice but in the end it's just another trophy in the cabinet. CL is a recruiting gold mine and I want gold.
 
Champions league. I want to see us play in Europes most prestigious competition. And it brings more clout to the club to be the champions league. The champions league kicks us on as a club far more than the FA cup would. Also, if we can't go to the final, then you don't even get to have that momentous day of glory.

Yes we had kenwright and dithering Dave. Who botched up the Bellamy signing and probably Scott Parker too. We bought koldrup amd Simon Davies from Spurs. And had bought James beattie in January. And turned Arteta’s loan into a permanent. They may not be 100% correct, but probably not far off

We didn't sign Kancheskis because of the cup. We obviously didn't sign Collymore. I think it was Armstrong who we tried to sign as a striker actually....point I am making is none of them signed or didnt sign over the cup.

We are not getting anyone because we finish 4th that Carlo doesn't want if we finish 5th.

Any player who refuses to sign for us because we came 5th other than 4th is not a player I want in our team anyway!

What happens if we dont hit top 4 every year? They are gonna want to move. Instability at a club is a killer.
 
We need talented players who believe in Carlo and believe in the project at Everton and wont jump ship at the first sign of trouble.

Otherwise we just get on the merry-go-round of players in and out, managers in-and-out and who knows where that leads?

I haven't been more positive about Everton in a long time, i am putting my trust in Carlo to build a team and to get us playing well too.

If you really think it makes no difference to who we can attract from finishing 4th or 5th.
then I give up.

Who knows why kanchelskis signed in 95. You asked who we signed after winning the cup. You will have to speak to kanchelskis or Joe or peter Johnson, to find out his reason for joining us.

And we definitely tried to sign collymore, we agreed a 8.5mil fee and he came for two lots of talks, before picking Liverpool

I am sorry for boring you. If you think it matters whether we finish 4th or 5th as to who will sign this summer then I feel for you. Sadly, we cant ask the player or manager but I would be willing to bet that you are wrong.

No one. Chelsea raided them for Kante, who was the keystone, and they spent big on players from second-tier leagues. Walsh knifing them in the back to join us two months after extending his contract probably did not help their recruitment, and the general sense was that they were a flash in the pan anyway, which turned out to be true and probably did not help recruitment.

Our situation is very different. We have Carlo Ancelotti, who is a proven winner that players love playing for, wealthy ownership that hasn't been afraid to spend and the key pieces locked down in long-term deals. Get summer recruitment right, and we can stay top 4 and push for cups.

The CL these days is worth a big pot of gold towards FFP compliance and aids in recruitment. Given a choice, I'd rather accelerate the development process towards sustainable success and more silverware later as opposed to win a pot now.

If you belive that rubbish then it makes no difference.
 

Players either believe in our manager and our project or they don't. A 4th place finish I doubt will change their minds when we will be asking them to sign a 4-5 year contract.

That was sort of my point. They had success but they were not able to build on it, not even close. I rather hope we have better foundations and I hope that we aren't going to have our better players taken during the summer. With Ancelotti guiding us then I believe we wont. My point this evening has rather been 4th or 5th isn't an issue.

They will have a list of summer targets and targets that maybe we can get if we get champions league football. you really think Carlo cares about a player only joining because we got 4th.


Then maybe you should follow West Ham abs dithering Dave, knife to a gun fight and all that
