Fa Cup every time, Man City could destroy our dreams on both fronts with having them in the cup and playing them last game of the season

It was Dave Watson who scored in previous round against Newcastle. Jackson got the opener against Spurs. Amokachi scored a few days later against Newcastle in a league game so I can see where the confusion comes from.

Yep, I remember it well on Sky. We were also killer at scoring from corners when Joe took over in the dugout that season.

He did also was involved in the goal in the final. Joe Royles treatment of Jackson is one of my criticisms of his reign. He was better than both Barrett and Hottiger who were bought to replace him.

So you are saying we signed a world class player after an FA cup win? I hear rumours he only signed because of eastern european mob gambling debt, not sure if that is true though. Either way it was the FA cup not the league.

Yeah PJ was a joke, but we did sign, Collins, Speed, Dacourt, Matterazzi....I was too young to really know what went wrong but that seems like a good core to add on to an FA Cup winning side.

Joe quit, I dont know why? And we went into freefall and nearly got relegated.

It went pear shaped with Joe because of Johnson selling kanchelskis and injuries. We got unlucky losing Parkinson, hinchcliffe & Tony grant in the same game. Joe wanted to sign Tore Andre flo and was turned down by the board and walked
