Fella makes my blood boil

Its not his fault. His record was there for all to see. Nobody forced EFC to buy him.

This kind of purchase convinces me that Moyes was a way above-average. Yeah, he bought Davies
who was crap but from to time he nabbed winners eg Cahill on a quite high percentage. It has'nt happened since he left.

I reckon Delph is disliked more than the usual EFC misfit because he gives the impression that he actually thinks he is the biz.

Was.

Isn’t anymore.

Actually it will be interesting to see how they will both get on over the next two or three years.

Both clubs have a big fan base, similar in being not too good at playing football and having pissed loadsa money away on crap. EFC a lot more incidentally.

The signings of Delph and Iwobi really should’ve been the end of Brands. The consensus of a huge number of Evertonians would’ve been not to sign them but this fella, on his millions o/a, apparently knew better.

Possibly you are right but whjat was the Manager's role in these signings?

Wonder if we are trying to keep him fit in order to sell him?

Seems far fetched that he has been injured throughout the whole restart and nearly into September yet he's pictured all smiles in training.

Possibly been told that if we sign somebody in his position he can leave.

Hence him still training with the first team and not playing games.

Or we might just not be taking any chances in pointless preseason games.

This 100%

Imagine the fume if Walsh had signed either of those turkeys!

Moshiri’s 3 biggest mistakes. Koeman, Walsh, Brands. Fat Sam doesn’t even beat those 3!

The Iwobi signing was a late window Moshiri special. Our normal processes got short-circuited when it was clear Zaha was impossible. Delph is 100% on Brands. We knew we needed a Barry type. A veteran leader on the training ground and steady-eddie on the pitch. Delph fitted the bill with one crucial exception, his injury record. Brands gambled and lost but he will not be sold this summer.

Getting him fit and keeping him fit will be important as he looks set to be the primary 'utility' back-up able to play LB, LWB, DM, CM depending on formation with Holgate now relied upon as primary CB not a utility CB/FB/CM option. If & when Gbamin is fit he might emerge as the key utility player but until then like it or not Delph is important to us, particularly if Brands does manage to trim the squad to c. 25.
