2019/20 Fabian Delph

Yes but we were playing a [Poor language removed] arsenal and we're wanting to win the game not hold on for a draw. My thought and Pickfords obviously

If he's a squad player he will be a very helpful one. If he's starting 25 or more games in a season we are probably going to struggle. He doesn't have either the physical traits or the skill to really be top class week in week out.

I totally agree he is ideal back up. He can play as either a 6 or an 8 and the added bonus of LB also. His body won't allow him to be a regular however a good sub and fill in player which is what you need. Whether his ego will be happy with that I don't know but ultimately he won't get better elsewhere as his body won't allow.

Absolute sub-Phil Neville in everything he does. I miss Super-Nev. That's what this bunch (Delph is one of them) have done to me.

TO BEHAVE

We’ve replaced crab Cleverley with how he can’t pass forward and we’ve replaced Barkley with the way he ducks out of any kind of challenge (probably because he’s made of meringue). Not even remotely impressed by him.

Looks neat and tidy on the ball and doesn’t lose possession but that’s beacuse he constantly passes backward. Doesn’t offer any protection either which begs the question, what does he offer

I felt he did well today, to be honest. It was nice to see him getting through two games on the trot without picking up an injury. Burnley can be nasty at times and I fully expected to see Delph getting launched at some point during the game.

I thought he was terrible today, wasn't showing anywhere near enough for the ball and when he did get it just done a Naismith (aka passing it straight back to where it came from)

I'm not surprised though, I'd expect he's trying to get away with playing within himself for fear of him breaking down again so soon after coming back.

I guess we've just got to wrap him in cotton wool a bit and try and get him minutes but not overdoing it.

A nothing player, playing alongside a nothing player.

I posted this thread at the start of the season and there's no doubt about it that we were weak here in CM even before the injuries.

In fairness we have 40 odd mill worth of cm out injured so delph is proving his worth as a squad signing

True, though I really think we lack one real top class player in there...

Every tackle is a foul with Gomes and Gbamin isnt going to be effective going forward i think.

Ideally need a really class player in there to knit it all together.
